This 6 week series is for people who have basic kitchen skills and are looking to expand their culinary knowledge. We will help you practice the skills you have already acquired, and inspire you with new and exciting ingredients.
Every week we will explore different types of cuisine to expose you to a variety of ethnic ingredients, as well as some local ingredients you may not be familiar with. These classes will help you to feel more confident creating new dishes as well as using all types of ingredients in applications you may not have thought of.
APPETIZERS AND HORS D/OEUVRES
Our first class focuses on appetizers and hors d’ oeuvres with an
international flair. Students prepare a variety of starters with Fresh crepes, pastry and phyllo dough creations.
FRESH PASTA AND VEGETABLES
Week two is devoted to fresh egg pasta dough. Perfect for a variety of stuffed and strand pastas, you’ll prepare your own dough, roll, cut and top with a traditional sauce.
FISH AND SEAFOOD
A variety of fish and seafood dishes are prepared in week 3, with an emphasis on proper cooking techniques, flavors and handling.
This class aims to “kick it up” with some fantastic beef recipes. Week 4 offers new twists on old favorites, plus new recipes that take beef beyond just meat and potatoes.
It doesn’t have to be the same old thing when it comes to chicken and poultry. Week 5 offers students new and creative ways to prepare this incredibly versatile entree
FINALE: CREATE YOUR OWN MENU
In week 6, your last class of the series, you will be making a menu that the entire class decides they would like to prepare.
